Blue Jays Organizational Rosters: New Hampshire Fisher Cats

Revisiting our opening day roster predictions and comparing with the current roster

Here’s what my opening day roster predictions were for the Fisher Cats (with notes on where I went wrong and where the player actually ended up):

C: Reese McGuire

1B: Ryan McBroom

2B: Tim Lopes

3B: Jason Leblebijian       AAA

SS: Richard Urena

LF:  Harold Ramirez

CF Anthony Alford

RF  Roemon Fields

DH Max Pentecost

Bench

C Alex Monsalve            AAA

INF Emilio Guerrero

INF  Shane Opitz             ? (Was assigned to AAA briefly but now is not listed on any roster)

OF Ian Parmley              AAA

Starters:

SP Tyler Cole                          DL

SP Sean Reid-Foley

SP Jeremy Gabryszwski           ?  (not listed on any roster, could be injured or released)

SP Shane Dawson

SP Conner Greene

Relievers

RP  Jeff Beliveau            AAA

RP Blake McFarland          DL

RP Wil Browning             AAA

RP Tim Mayza

RP Murphy Smith

RP Chris Smith                 AAA

RP Luis Santos

That adds up to a 15/25 score. There were two injuries at AA and several at AAA/MAJ that were impossible to foresee.

Monsalve and Raffy Lopez turned out to be flip flopped.

Here’s who was actually on the opening day roster for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (and, for my mistakes, where I thought those players would appear):

C: Reese McGuire

1B: Ryan McBroom

2B: Tim Lopes

3B: Emilio Guerrero

SS: Richard Urena

LF:  Harold Ramirez

CF Anthony Alford

RF  Jonathan Davis              A+

DH Roemon Fields

Bench

C Rafael lopez                AAA

INF Gunnar Heidt           A+

INF Jon Diaz                 AAA

Starters

SP Jon Harris                 A+

SP Sean Reid-Foley

SP Francisco Rios            A+

SP Shane Dawson

SP Conner Greene

Relievers

RP  Jose Fernandez        A+

RP Dusty Isaacs             A+

RP Alonzo Gonzalez

RP Tim Mayza

RP Murphy Smith

RP Carlos Ramirez           A+

RP Luis Santos

RP Chris Rowley           A+

Like the Lugnuts and the Bisons, the Fisher Cats are running with a short bench for the time being.

After two rainouts to begin the season, the Fisher Cats have posted a 1-3 record  so far. The roster hasn’t seen any changes since opening day.
